
Our very own Stevie Shipman (Y13) and Tori Grout (Y12) have swum to the podium at the recent 2020 New Zealand Short Course Swimming Championships.
Kāpiti College swimming captain, Stevie Shipman was in record-breaking form again, shaving 0.13 seconds off her Wellington Record in the 50m backstroke to win the National Title and gold medal in 29.06 seconds! Stevie swam in the Open Age A and B finals, coming away with the fourth fastest Open Age time and as the fasted U19 in the 50m. Posting personal best times all round and achieving two fourth placings also, Stevie is showing promising form.
Tori Grout is a long-time national medalist in the breaststroke events. Her 100m did not disappoint, with her speedy time of 1.14.19 seconds awarding her the bronze as the third fastest 16 year old in the country for her discipline! Grout secured 8th place in the Open Age A Final, showing consistency with a time of 1.14.87!
